The GlenDronach House Editions The Venetian Room is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky that combines GlenDronach’s traditional sherry cask maturation with influences from Italian wine casks. This edition is part of the new, permanent House Editions series for global travel retail, created by Master Blender Rachel Barrie and launched to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the GlenDronach Distillery. The Venetian Room is inspired by the elegance, architecture, and culture of indulgence found in Venice. For maturation, GlenDronach combines classic Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks with Italian Amarone red wine casks. It is precisely the influence of the Amarone casks that gives this edition a distinctive blend of dark fruit, sherry character, and Italian wine cask notes.

At 46%, GlenDronach The Venetian Room is presented in a 0.7-liter bottle, complete with a gift box. The three different cask types are the defining feature of this bottling: while Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso represent the classic GlenDronach signature, the Amarone casks reflect the edition’s Italian inspiration. The whisky is also bottled unchill-filtered. The House Editions were developed over the course of about two years and, in addition to The Venetian Room, include The Sevillian Room and The Parisian Room, with each variant interpreting a different international metropolis and a corresponding additional cask type. As a travel retail single malt with Amarone cask influence, The Venetian Room thus offers a particularly fruit-forward interpretation of the sherry-influenced GlenDronach style.
