The Bitter Truth Bogart's Bitters 42.1% Vol. 0.35 l + GB is a historically based and high-quality cocktail bitters replica in the style of the 19th century and plays a key role in the history of classic bar culture. This exceptional bottling is produced by The Bitter Truth, an internationally renowned producer of authentic bar bitters and classic cocktail ingredients. Bogart's Bitters is considered to be the first bitters ever mentioned by name and was already mentioned in 1862 in the first cocktail book in history, written by Jerry Thomas, an icon of the first golden age of cocktails.

Although no original bottles from Jerry Thomas' time have survived, it is widely accepted that Bogart's was a contemporary spelling variant of Boker's Bitters. Even before other bitters found their way into cocktail recipes around the world, Bogart's/Boker's was the definitive standard. As early as 1888, the first printed Martini cocktail recipe explicitly called for the use of "genuine Bogart's/Boker's", indicating its enormous popularity and the existence of inferior imitations. Over a period of more than ten years, The Bitter Truth has intensively researched and analyzed, based on an extremely rare original bottle from around 1900 with authentic contents. The historic "Lady Leg" bottle made of brown glass and the original label have been faithfully reproduced and underline the museum-like character of this edition. The high-quality gift box rounds off the collector's and presentation value of this bottling.
