The Speyburn Hopkins Reserve Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a travel-exclusive bottling from the historic Speyburn Distillery in Scotland’s Speyside region. The distillery was founded in 1897 by John Hopkins, whose name is honored with this special release. Speyburn is located near Rothes in the heart of Speyside and is known for an approachable, fruity, and malty single malt style. The Hopkins Reserve is based on malted barley, which is distilled in copper pot stills using traditional methods. The whisky is then given the necessary time during its cask maturation to blend its characteristic grain, fruit, and spice notes.

As a Speyburn Travel Exclusive Single Malt, the Hopkins Reserve also stands out for its generous 1-liter bottle size. With an alcohol content of 46%, it is bottled at a higher proof than many classic standard bottlings, giving it a pronounced structure. The name Hopkins Reserve also establishes a direct link to the distillery’s history and its founder. The combination of traditional Speyside whisky production, selected casks, classic pot-still distillation, and an exclusive focus on the international travel retail market makes this bottling an interesting addition to the Speyburn range. The Speyburn Hopkins Reserve 46% 1 L is therefore particularly aimed at enthusiasts of classic Speyside single malts as well as collectors of travel retail whiskey bottlings.
