Riga Black Balsam 1752 ORIGINAL Recipe 45% Vol. 0.7 l is a legendary Latvian herbal bitter and is one of the oldest bitter liqueur brands in Europe. Since its creation in Riga in 1752, the famous Riga Black Balsam has developed from a traditional apothecary remedy into a genuine Latvian national symbol and an internationally prized specialty among lovers of complex herbal liqueurs. The traditional recipe is still kept top secret to this day and makes this characterful bitter a unique spirit with an unmistakable aroma.

It is produced on the basis of 24 natural ingredients, including a total of 17 botanicals such as valerian, wormwood, black pepper, ginger and selected herbal resins. The plant extracts are macerated in an elaborate single-barrel infusion process over a period of around 30 days, allowing the intense and complex aroma to develop. The Riga Black Balsam then matures further in the characteristic dark ceramic bottles, which protect it from light and preserve its quality. With a strong 45% alcohol content, this traditional herbal liqueur is intense, spicy and exceptionally complex.
