Planteray Rum FIJI 2019 Coffee Liqueur Cask Finish is an exceptional single-cask release from Fiji, produced from molasses by the Rum Co. of Fiji. Fermentation takes four to five days before distillation takes place in a column still. The distillate is from the 2019 vintage and subsequently undergoes the multi-stage aging process characteristic of Planteray. First, the rum is aged for four years in bourbon barrels under tropical conditions. This is followed by continental aging in France, where it spends another five months in Ferrand casks. This combination of tropical and continental aging forms the basis for the complex character of this limited-edition release.

The Planteray Fiji 2019 Single Cask derives its distinctive character from an additional seven months of aging in a coffee liqueur cask. This unusual finish complements the Fijian rum with distinctive notes of coffee, cocoa, and roasted flavors, without overshadowing its tropical origins. The producer classifies this release as part of the Single Casks Premium 2024 Collection. At 45.4%, the rum is offered in a 0.7-liter bottle and is aimed particularly at enthusiasts of experimental cask maturations and limited-edition Planteray Single Cask rums. The combination of the 2019 vintage, four years of aging in bourbon barrels, Ferrand casks, and a coffee liqueur cask finish makes this edition an unusual interpretation of a matured Fijian rum.
