Planteray Rum BARBADOS XO 20th Anniversary is a premium rum from Barbados, originally created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Maison Ferrand’s master blender, Alexandre Gabriel. For this bottling, carefully selected, aged Barbados rums are blended together. A hallmark of this rum is Planteray’s signature double-aging method: First, the rums age under tropical conditions in Barbados in ex-Bourbon barrels made of American oak. They are then transported to France, where they undergo a further aging phase in former Ferrand cognac barrels made of French oak. The contrast between tropical and continental climates, as well as the use of two different types of barrels, defines the distinctive style of this renowned XO release.

The Planteray Barbados XO 20th Anniversary, formerly sold under the Plantation brand name, thus combines the rum tradition of Barbados with French expertise in barrel aging. The blend of different rums and the subsequent second aging give this bottling its complex and harmonious character. With an alcohol content of 40%, the Barbados XO is designed specifically as a sipping rum and ranks among the established premium bottlings in the Planteray lineup.
