The Plantation Rum Barbados Single Cask Port Finish Very Special Old is a strictly limited single cask bottling that combines the classic elegance of typical Barbados rums with an exceptional cask finish. It is based on a rum from Barbados traditionally made from molasses, which was mainly distilled in a column still and initially allowed to mature for several years in tropical American oak barrels. This was followed by continental maturation in France before this bottling was given its distinctive finish in selected port wine barrels.
Bottled as a single cask, each bottle comes from a single cask and therefore retains its individual character. The alcohol content of 44.9% underlines the aromatic depth without losing balance. This bottling exemplifies Plantation's philosophy of focusing on terroir, barrel management and precision craftsmanship to create rums with a strong character and clear style.
