It is produced at the Erongo Mountain Winery in Namibia, where the climatic conditions allow for a profound influence on barrel aging. After distillation, the single malt first matures in the producer’s own former red wine barrels. The combination of winemaking and whiskey production under one roof allows for particularly direct access to the wine casks used.

After aging in ex-red wine casks, the Ondjaba Single Malt receives a final finish in so-called ex-sherry-style casks. This designation should be deliberately distinguished from classic ex-sherry casks and corresponds to the producer’s specification.
