The Octomore EDITION: 13.3 Super Heavily Peated Islay Barley 2022 61.1% ABV 0.7 L is one of the most impressive releases in Bruichladdich’s Octomore Series 13 and embodies uncompromising quality and the unmistakable character of Islay. Unlike Editions 13.1 and 13.2, the Octomore 13.3 is made exclusively from Islay barley sourced from Octomore Farm, located just about two miles from the distillery. The Concerto barley, harvested in 2015, was peated to an impressive 129.3 ppm and distilled in 2016. As a single estate, single vintage, and single malt, this bottling embodies Bruichladdich’s philosophy of placing origin and terroir at the center. The 0.7-liter bottle is aimed at enthusiasts of exceptionally heavily peated Islay whiskies.

The Octomore 13.3 was aged for five years in a combination of first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill European oak wine casks. The European wine casks come from the renowned wine regions of Rivesaltes in France and Ribera del Duero in Spain, lending the whiskey additional depth as well as elegant fruit and spice notes. The whiskey is bottled at a robust 61.1% ABV at cask strength, without chill filtration and without the addition of colorants. Despite its intense peaty character, the Octomore combines powerful smoke with surprising elegance, maritime influences, and exceptional balance.
