The Nikka From the Barrel Double Matured 90th Anniversary Blended Whisky 51.4% ABV 0.5 l is a strictly limited special edition released to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. Founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru – the pioneer of Japanese whisky – Nikka is today one of Japan's most important distilleries and is known for exceptional blends and single malts.
This anniversary bottling is based on the award-winning classic Nikka From the Barrel, but was conceived as a special double maturation. The blend combines grain and malt whiskies from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries, which, after their initial maturation, were matured a second time in select casks. This additional cask maturation gives the whisky even more depth, complexity, and harmonious balance. Bottled at a robust 51.4% ABV, it is intense and complex, yet remains elegant and approachable.
