The Murray McDavid 10 Years Old Caol Ila 2014 is a powerful yet exceptionally aromatic bottling from independent bottler Murray McDavid, known for his unusual cask combinations and bold aging concepts. This single malt Scotch whisky comes from the legendary Caol Ila Distillery on the island of Islay, a region famous for its peat-smoked whiskies.

Distilled in 2014, this whisky matured for a total of 10 years and was then finished in an unusual combination of Pedro Ximenez (PX) sherry casks and Amarone wine casks. This marriage of sweet, dark sherry and dry, tannic red wine gives the powerful Caol Ila a new, complex aromatic character. It was bottled at 53.1% ABV at cask strength, unchilled filtered and without coloring – in the spirit of an authentic, cask-aged Islay whisky.
