La Cofradia Reserva Especial Anejo is a premium 100% agave tequila from Mexico, produced by Destileria La Cofradia in the state of Jalisco. It is made exclusively from Agave Tequilana Weber Azul, which is processed for the distillery’s tequila production. La Cofradia has more than half a century of experience and combines traditional tequila production with modern production facilities. For the Reserva Especial Anejo, the focus after distillation is particularly on barrel aging. The current producer’s documentation describes the Anejo quality as aged in white oak barrels. Additional retailer information indicates an aging period of approximately twelve months in oak for this bottling. This process gives the originally clear agave spirit its golden color and additional barrel character.

With an alcohol content of 40% and a bottle size of 0.7 liters, the La Cofradia Anejo Reserva Especial combines the characteristic agave base with the influences of oak aging. The distillery is located on a hacienda in the heart of the municipality of Tequila in Jalisco and is particularly known for its 100% Blue Weber agave tequilas as well as its distinctive bottle designs. The Reserva Especial release is aimed primarily at connoisseurs of aged tequilas who are seeking a 100% agave anejo tequila with classic barrel character. The combination of Mexican origin, Blue Weber agave, oak barrel aging, and La Cofradia’s many years of experience makes it a quintessential example of traditional anejo tequilas.
