The IRO Zweigelt Ried Ungerberg 2024 is an expressive single-vineyard wine from Lake Neusiedl that impressively reflects the potential of the Zweigelt grape variety. Ried Ungerberg, an outstandingly exposed site in the Heideboden region, offers ideal conditions for powerful yet elegant red wines with its deep, heat-retaining soils. The IRO winery exploits this terroir masterfully and, with the 2024 vintage, is bringing a Zweigelt to the bottle that impresses with its depth, structure and ageing potential.
The wine is carefully matured in small and large wooden barrels, ensuring a fine balance between fruit and spice. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., this Zweigelt is powerful yet supple - a representative of its grape variety that is full of character and has both young drinking pleasure and ageing potential. The wine is already complex and charming, with elegant fruit sweetness, silky tannins and finely integrated wood aromas.
