The base is created in the Caribbean, where the distillate first matures for five years in American oak barrels under tropical conditions. It is then sent to Bodegas Williams & Humbert in Spain, where it is further refined in a two-stage process. First, it rests for a further five years in Oloroso sherry barrels before additional ageing in Pedro Ximenez barrels, which gives the spirit drink its typical sweetness and aromatic depth. This triple maturation creates a complex, softly structured style that combines both the Caribbean base and the Spanish sherry tradition in a harmonious profile.
