The Ardbeg AN OA Islay Single Malt 46.6% vol. 0.7 l is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky with a strong character that impressively embodies the typical signature of the legendary Ardbeg Distillery. As part of the Core Range, this peated single malt whisky stands for the combination of intense smoky aromas and a surprisingly round, balanced style. The distillery on the island of Islay is known worldwide for its unmistakable, strong peat character, which is also clearly expressed in Ardbeg An Oa.
The special feature of this bottling lies in the maturing and blending of different types of cask. Ardbeg An Oa is composed of whiskies matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, virgin oak casks and classic ex-bourbon casks. These are then married together in the so-called Gathering Vat, creating a harmonious overall picture. The result is an Islay whisky that combines the typical smoke of Ardbeg with sweeter, spicier and fruity influences. Bottled at 46.6% and without heavy filtration, the aroma remains particularly intense and authentic.
