The Andrea Da Ponte Vecchia Grappa di Prosecco 8 Annate is a traditional grappa from Veneto, produced according to the company’s own Metodo Da Ponte. The raw material consists of carefully selected pomace from the Glera grape, which is used to produce Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. In this way, the Andrea Da Ponte distillery highlights the close connection between the regional Prosecco tradition and classic Italian grappa production. After distillation, the grappa is given ample time to develop its characteristic profile. The designation “8 Annate” refers to the long aging period, which clearly distinguishes this distillate from young, unaged grappas and allows it to develop additional depth and a more harmonious character.

The Vecchia Grappa di Prosecco is aged in select oak barrels from the Limousin region of France, which are also responsible for its characteristic golden-yellow color. The interplay of Glera pomace, the Metodo Da Ponte, and Limousin oak lends this 42-percent bottling its distinctive style. The Andrea Da Ponte distillery has a long history of distillation and counts the Vecchia Grappa di Prosecco among its most traditional products. At 42% ABV in a 0.7-liter bottle, this aged grappa is aimed particularly at connoisseurs of Italian pomace spirits who seek a combination of regionally typical raw materials, traditional distillation, and pronounced oak barrel aging.
