Founded in the Scottish Highlands
Tomatin Distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands, south of Inverness, an area known for producing smooth, well-balanced single malt whiskies. Officially founded in 1897, Tomatin takes its name from the nearby village and has been part of Scotland’s whisky-making tradition for more than a century.
During much of the 20th century, Tomatin was one of the largest malt whisky producers in Scotland, supplying spirit for renowned blended whiskies while gradually establishing its own identity as a single malt brand.
Tradition Meets Modern Vision
In 1986, Tomatin entered a new chapter when it was acquired by a Japanese company, bringing a strong focus on quality, precision, and long-term maturation. Since then, the distillery has refined its style, emphasizing smoothness, balance, and cask-driven complexity.
Today, Tomatin is recognized for its diverse range of single malts, from approachable core expressions to rare and highly aged releases. The brand’s travel retail collection highlights Tomatin’s expertise in cask selection and maturation, offering exclusive whiskies that showcase different styles and age statements.
