"Langskip" is the Scottish Gaelic word for "longship", which means "long ship" in German. Longships were long rowing boats used by the Vikings for warlike purposes as well as other tasks.
Wolfburn Distillery is located in the town of Thurso, whose name is thought to derive from the Norse god of thunder, "Thor".
The Wolfburn Langskip undergoes a maturation of five years in former bourbon casks. This storage gives the whiskey its characteristic aroma and flavor.
Wolfburn Langskip is bottled at cask strength, which means that it is bottled at its natural concentration straight from the cask, without the addition of any extra water. In addition, no artificial colors are added and the whiskey is not cold-filtered.
