Cork, located on Ireland's southern coast, is home to the picturesque town of Skibbereen, crossed by the River Ilen. This region is known for its scenic beauty and cultural significance, particularly in its whiskey-making tradition. In 2007, three friends founded the West Cork Distillery in Skibbereen. This small, independent distillery excels in producing high-quality whiskeys crafted with great care and craftsmanship.
From the outset, the founders focused on quality and tradition, combined with an innovative approach. The West Cork Distillery uses crystal-clear spring water and carefully selected grains. This commitment reflects the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that characterize the Irish whiskey industry.
Like other West Cork bottlings, this whiskey is triple distilled. To ensure a better interaction between the copper pot stills and the rising steam, West Cork's stills are only half-filled. The West Cork CALVADOS CASK FINISH Irish Blended Whiskey, which matures in first-fill bourbon casks, receives a very special finish in Calvados Garnier casks.
