West Cork MARITIME Single Malt Irish Whiskey RUM CASK FINISHED Limited Edition 43% Vol. 0,7l

The West Cork MARITIME Single Malt Irish Whiskey RUM CASK FINISHED Limited Edition is a single malt Irish whiskey from County Cork that combines classic Irish whiskey character with an additional rum cask finish. This expression is produced by West Cork Distillers in Skibbereen in southwestern Ireland. The independent distillery was founded in 2003 and has grown from relatively modest beginnings into an established producer of Irish whiskeys. Malted barley serves as the base for this West Cork single malt. After its initial aging, the whiskey undergoes additional aging in former rum casks, whose influence complements the malty base with sweeter and fruitier cask notes.

The West Cork Maritime Rum Cask Finished is part of the Maritime Collection, whose name reflects the distillery’s close connection to the Atlantic coast of West Cork. The rum cask finish imparts additional notes of tropical fruit, vanilla, and caramelized sweetness to the single malt without overshadowing the fundamental character of the Irish whiskey. With an alcohol content of 43% and a 0.7-liter bottle, this limited edition offers a well-balanced drinking strength. The combination of Irish single malt and rum cask finishing makes this bottling particularly interesting for tastings of various cask finishes and offers a fruit-forward interpretation within the West Cork Maritime series.
