The Japanese whisky distillery "Akkeshi" started producing whisky in 2016.
The distillery is located on the island of Hokkaido. Distillery founder Keiichi Toita confirms that the location was not chosen by chance. He is a great fan of Scottish single malts. The climatic conditions are similar to those in Scotland.
After numerous new-make spirits, the first single malt is now on the market.
