The Tenuta San Guido Le Difese IGT 2023 is an elegant yet characterful red wine from Tuscany with 13.5% ABV, bearing the hallmarks of one of Italy's most important wineries: Tenuta San Guido – world-famous for its legendary Sassicaia. With Le Difese, the winery presents a "little brother" of Sassicaia, which, however, impresses with its own distinctive profile, international reputation, and excellent value for money.

The 2023 vintage blend consists of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Sangiovese – a combination that combines the structure and spice of Cabernet with the freshness and elegance of Sangiovese. The grapes come from the estate's own vineyards, located in the rolling hills of the Maremma near Bolgheri, where the interplay of sun, sea influence, and calcareous soils creates ideal conditions for expressive red wines. The wine is aged for several months in second- and third-use French barriques to preserve the fruit while still imparting subtle depth and structure to the wine.
