The Tement Sauvignon Blanc Ried Zieregg Kapelle Suedsteiermark DAC 2022 is an impressive Austrian white wine from the renowned Zieregg vineyard, one of the best vineyards in Southern Styria. It is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes and carries the Grosse STK Lage (GSTK) classification, distinguishing it as a top-quality wine of international stature. The vines grow on a unique high plateau above the winery, at the foot of the Carmelite Chapel. The soils consist of water-repellent, heavy clay and loam on coral limestone – a remnant of the primeval sea around 16 million years ago.

The approximately 20-year-old vines, comprising around 7,000 plants on 1.48 hectares, benefit from an ideal altitude of 470 meters. The cooling forest cover mitigates the daytime sunlight, allowing the grapes to ripen more slowly and develop their complex aromas. After natural fermentation, the wine matures for 30 months on the fine lees in small, old oak barrels. It is bottled unfiltered and sealed with natural cork. The Tement Zieregg Kapelle has exceptional aging potential of over 20 years and is best decanted to fully develop its depth and elegance.
