The Springbank 15 Years Old Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% by volume stands for the unmistakable signature of one of Scotland's most traditional distilleries. The Springbank Distillery, founded in 1828 by the Reid family on the Kintyre peninsula, is still one of the Campbeltown region's character-defining producers today. A high proportion of this 15-year-old bottling is matured in sherry casks, which gives the whisky its deep, warm structure. Typical of Springbank is the exceptionally long fermentation time of 110 hours and the rare two-and-a-half distillation, in which part of the distillate is triple distilled and another part is double distilled. The malt is kilned over a peat fire for six hours and then over hot air for 24 hours, resulting in a slightly peaty character with around 12 to 15 ppm. The whisky is not chill-filtered and retains all of its natural expressiveness, which highlights its authentic Campbeltown style.

The cask maturation creates a multi-layered, balanced single malt that combines the typical elements of the region - maritime notes, subtle smokiness and finely integrated malt sweetness - with chocolaty, fruity and spicy sherry flavors. The bottling thus impressively demonstrates why Springbank has been considered one of the country's distilleries with the strongest character for decades and is highly valued by connoisseurs.
