The Slyrs whisky distillery was opened in 1999 and is one of the largest single malt whisky producers in Germany. The name of the Slyrs distillery is derived from Schliersee and a monastery in Bavaria.
The barley used comes from the north of Bavaria. In 2014, a warehouse was built in the Bavarian mountains - here the whisky is allowed to mature for 3 to 6 years in the Bavarian mountain climate.
The special thing about this single malt is its finish in a rum cask.
