Since 1999, the Slyrs distillery has been producing the first and only Upper Bavarian single malt whisky that is produced using the classic rough and fine distillation process. From the finest barley malt and pure mountain spring water, a vintage spirit is created in new oak barrels with a capacity of 225 liters, which is bottled in limited quantities.
The name "Slyrs" is a pseudo-Gaelic corruption of "Schliersee" and refers to the origins of the distillery. The 18-year-old single malt presented here is the first of its kind from the Slyrs Bavarian Whisky Distillery. After gentle distillation in 2005, this exceptional whisky matured for a full 18 years in American white oak casks until it reached perfection.
In the midst of the Bavarian Alps, carefully selected raw materials, master craftsmanship and the patience of long maturation unfold their full effect. The lower production capacity at the time gives this whisky a special exclusivity and makes it a real rarity.
