The Antica Distilleria Domenico Sibona is located in the Roero region in the municipality of Piobesi d'Alba, just a few kilometers from Alba. The special thing about Grappa Sibona is that it has a special distilling license, the No. 1 of the UTF. This special Grappa Riserva, which is distilled from the pomace of the Muscat grape and other Piedmontese grape varieties, was first aged for a long time in oak barrels.
It was then refined for several months in barrels on the island of Madeira, in which Madeira wine from the best-known wineries had previously matured. This special ageing in Madeira barrels, which has already been successfully applied to whisky barrels, was pioneered by Sibona Grappa and applied to grappa, bringing with it outstanding quality characteristics.
