The Ron Matusalem brand has its origins in Santiago de Cuba, where it was founded in 1872 by the brothers Benjamin and Eduardo Camp together with their partner Evaristo Alvarez. The name "Matusalem" comes from the biblical figure Methuselah, who is said to have lived to be 969 years old, and symbolizes the long maturing process and the quality of the rum. Over the years, Ron Matusalem has faced various challenges, including changes in ownership and production locations due to political and economic factors. After the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the brand changed hands and production was moved to the Dominican Republic, where it continues to flourish.
Ron Matusalem 15 Solera Gran Reserva is a unique blend of handcrafted rums. It is matured for 15 years in oak barrels using the solera method. The design of this limited edition was created by the artist Gonzalo Fuenmayor.
