Regele Traminer Sulztaler Zoppelberg Eiswein 1997 12% Vol. 0,375l
The Regele Traminer Sulztaler Zoppelberg Ice Wine 1997 is an exceptional and rare one-of-a-kind sweet wine from the renowned single vineyard Zoppelberg in Sulztal on the South Styrian Wine Route. The Regele winery, located in Leibnitz (South Styria), has stood for decades for quality-oriented viticulture with deep respect for nature and the terroir. This rarity from 1997 was harvested under the most stringent climatic conditions – at a minimum of -7°C, as required for a true ice wine.
The Traminer grape variety, known for its intense aroma and structure, is predestined for noble sweet wines. The sugar and aromatic compounds concentrated deep in the frozen grapes, after the slow pressing process, produce a highly extract-rich, opulent must concentrate. The subsequent, very long fermentation and careful aging produce a wine with enormous ageing potential, complex aromas, and a velvety sweetness. Despite its high degree of ripeness, this ice wine retains its freshness and elegance thanks to its fine acidity. With an alcohol content of 12% vol., it is powerful yet balanced.
A true treasure for lovers of aged dessert wines and a prime example of the longevity of great noble sweet wines from Styria.
