From 2024, the Plantation brand will be renamed from Maison Ferrand to Planteray. This decision reflects the company's desire to show sensitivity and respect for historical contexts, particularly with regard to issues such as racial equality, equality and diversity.

The name change aims to make the brand image more modern and cosmopolitan. "Planteray" combines "Plant" for sugar cane and "Ray" for rays of sunshine, which support the growth of sugar cane, and aims to create a positive association without historical baggage. Despite the name change, the taste and production process of the rums remain unchanged.

Planteray Rum PANAMA is distilled from molasses at the Don Jose Distillery and initially matures for several years in bourbon barrels (200 l) in the country of origin. At MAISON FERRAND, it is given an additional finish in Ferrand barrels (350 l) and finally aged for 1 year in Marsala barrels, which gives it unique, fruity notes.
