The vines are rooted at up to 255 m above sea level in loess-loam soils with a light sandy layer and limestone in the subsoil; the Pannonian climate, influenced by Lake Neusiedl, ensures ripeness, structure and aromatic depth.

The Pfneisl Blaufraenkisch Ried Altes Weingebirge is vinified dry and matures for an impressive 36 months in new 500-liter barrels, giving the wine density, complexity and exceptional ageing potential.
