The Penfolds BIN 28 Shiraz 2022 14.5% ABV 0.75 l is a prime example of the fine art of Australian viticulture and has been a Penfolds classic since its launch in 1959. The name "Kalīmna Shiraz" refers to the vineyard of the same name in the Barossa Valley, from which the first grapes came. Today, the grapes are selected from various prime vineyards in South Australia – including the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, and Wrattonbully – which gives the wine its remarkable complexity and depth.
The 2022 vintage is particularly powerful and concentrated. The Shiraz is aged for around 12 months in American oak barrels, which imparts its characteristic notes of vanilla, chocolate, and spice without overpowering the varietal fruit.
