Octomore 15.1 forms the foundation of this Octomore series and serves as a reference point for the other bottlings. It is an impressive expression of Octomore's unmistakable character and shows the uncompromising power of intense peat smoke.
This Islay single malt has been matured for five years in a blend of first-fill bourbon casks and re-charred ex-bourbon casks, extracting maximum flavors from the wood. The Concerto barley used, which was grown on the Scottish mainland, enhances the powerful taste, while the particularly heavily peated malt lends a smoky intensity. Distilled in 2018 from the 2017 harvest, Octomore 15.1 embodies the essence of Octomore's innovative and uncompromising approach to whisky.
