The upheavals at the beginning of the 20th century and in particular the First World War, which destroyed half of Domaine Louis Roederer, prompted Leon Olry Roederer to rebuild his vineyard.
He decided to buy grapes to ensure the survival of the estate in these times of crisis. At the same time, he created a wine from several vintages with a consistent taste, regardless of the harvest year.
Louis Roederer Collection 245 is an exquisite blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier grapes. It combines the wines of the three grape varieties matured in oak barrels from various crus selected by Louis Roederer. These selected wines are matured for three to four years in Louis Roederer's own cellars to develop the perfect harmony and unique character of the champagne. This champagne is bottled in bottles sealed with a natural cork.
