Laphroaig is a whisky distillery on the Scottish island of Islay in the Hebrides and belongs to the Japanese-American Beam Suntory Group. The distillery buildings are listed on the Scottish Heritage List. In the production of Laphroaig, barley malt is dried over a peat fire, with the smoke from this unique Islay peat giving the whisky its particularly rich taste.
Laphroaig Select is supplied without an age statement and owes its name to a special selection of casks from the USA and Europe.
