Diversitas' Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC La Lepre reflects the diversity of Abruzzo and the essence of its namesake, the Italian hare. Diversitas, based in Loreto Aprutino, cultivates both its own and leased plots in various sub-regions to showcase indigenous grape varieties and the region's rich terroir in its wines.
This Montepulciano is fermented at a controlled 18 °C and then matured for six months in large 34-hectoliter oak barrels. The ageing process gives the wine an intense ruby red color with violet reflections, enhances the fruity character and adds an elegant woody spice.
With a focus on sustainable growing conditions and careful cultivation of the vineyards, Diversitas produces a high-quality wine that impressively reflects the depth and character of the local terroir.
