La Gauloise Liqueur Bicentenaire Verte 48% Vol. 0,7l
La Gauloise Liqueur Bicentenaire Verte is a traditional green herbal liqueur from France with a robust 48% alcohol by volume. The spirit is produced by the Distillerie du Centre in Limoges, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, according to a historic recipe dating back to 1783. This recipe is based on an ancient "grimoire" – an alchemical book of plants – rediscovered by the pharmacist Edouard Requier. To this day, the liqueur is produced from a secret blend of over 30 herbs, roots, and spices and painstakingly distilled by hand.
The "Verte" (green) version is stronger, more aromatic, and more bitter than the yellow version, "Jaune," and thus embodies the classic French herbal liqueur style in its fullest form. It has received numerous awards over the centuries, including the Gold Medal at the 1889 World's Fair and the Medal of Honor at the 1900 World's Fair in Paris. With its striking, natural color and intense herbal profile, La Gauloise Verte is one of the most historically significant spirits of its kind.
