This rum has its name from a sailing ship named 'Kirk and Sweeney' which served as a smuggling ship for rum between the Caribbean and the northeast of the USA in the early times of prohibition.
On the bottle is an imprint of the usual smuggling routes of the ships.
Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, this rum adheres to the very strict regulations to be called "Dominican Rum". The process begins with hand harvested, high quality, pure sugar cane. The byproduct of the sugar cane, "Blackstrap Molasses", is then carefully fermented and distilled.
Aged in American and French oak barrels, this is a rum worth pursuing.
