Jura THE ROAD Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a former travel-retail bottling from the Jura Distillery and takes its name from the only road on the remote Isle of Jura. This road runs along the coast to the distillery, located in the southeastern part of the island, and symbolizes the close connection between the whisky and the island community. THE ROAD has no age statement and is initially matured in ex-Bourbon casks. The single malt then receives a special finish in casks that previously held 20-year-old Pedro Ximenez sherry. This combination blends Jura’s fruity house style with a distinctly sweeter, spicier sherry cask component. The whisky is bottled at 43.6% ABV in a generous 1-liter bottle.

The Jura Distillery is located in Craighouse on the Scottish island of Jura and boasts a long tradition of whisky-making. THE ROAD was part of a series developed specifically for the global travel retail market and is now listed by Jura among its earlier releases. A particularly distinctive feature is the interplay between American ex-bourbon barrels and a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask finish, which brings out notes of apricot, dark sweetness, nuts, and spices. The color of the whisky is adjusted using caramel coloring E150a.
