The Jameson Black Barrel Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey 40% ABV 0.7 l is a special bottling from the venerable Midleton Distillery in Ireland, interpreting the classic Jameson style with even more depth and spice. Since 1780, the name Jameson has stood for smooth, harmonious Irish whiskey – the Black Barrel clearly distinguishes itself from the original thanks to its special barrel management.
Like all Jameson whiskeys, this whiskey is triple distilled, which gives it its exceptional smoothness. What makes it special, however, lies in its aging: a combination of ex-bourbon casks and sherry casks are used, with the bourbon casks being double-burned ("Black Barrels"). This process intensifies the aromas of vanilla, caramel, and toasted wood, giving the whiskey a rich complexity. Bottled at 40% ABV, the Black Barrel is balanced, full-bodied, yet typically smooth in character.
