The Isle of RAASAY Hungarian Oak Single Malt Limited Release is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whiskey with an alcohol content of 50% in a 0.7-liter bottle, part of the Isle of Raasay Distillery’s innovative Oak Species Maturation Series. With this series, the distillery explores the influence of different oak species on the character of a whisky. The focus of this third edition is Quercus petraea, a high-quality Hungarian oak from the Zemplen Mountains in northeastern Hungary, which has been prized for centuries for aging premium wines. Unlike the previous releases in the series, this whisky was matured entirely in ex-Oloroso sherry barriques made from Hungarian oak, allowing the spicy woody aromas to blend elegantly with the deep dried-fruit notes of the Oloroso sherry. For this release, both peated and unpeated Raasay spirits are matured separately and then blended, giving the whiskey its complex, slightly peaty character (13–15 ppm). Naturally, it is non-chill-filtered and bottled without added colorants. Only 8,000 bottles are available worldwide.

This limited special edition combines maritime island notes with the elegant spice of Hungarian oak and the richness of Oloroso sherry maturation.
