The Markus IRO winery is located in Gols in the heart of the traditional wine-growing region, where around 20 hectares of vines are cultivated in outstanding locations such as Gabarinza and Heideboden. 30% of the vines are used for white wines, 70% for red wines.

The Pannonian and continental influences of high humidity and low rainfall favor the quality of IRO wines. The soil of the vineyards is covered by limestone, gravel, clay and sand.

Iro Zweigelt Selection, which is characterized by its exclusive composition of Zweigelt grapes, is matured in wooden barrels, which gives it a special depth and complexity. At the end of this careful ageing period, the wine is bottled with screw caps.
