Entrepreneur and organic winegrower Leo Hillinger took over the Hillinger winery from his father in 1990 and has continued to develop it ever since. Today, around 100 hectares of vineyards are cultivated. Hillinger wines are among the best wines in Austria, as well as in numerous other countries, with 30% of the wines produced being exported.
This red wine is made from 100% Zweigelt grapes, which gives it its characteristic and pure taste. The winemaker's main aim is to leave the grapes on the vines for as long as possible, as this is the best way to achieve ripeness. After the harvest, further maturation takes place in steel tanks, which allows this wine to be stored optimally for 2-4 years.
