Leo Hillinger is a visionary entrepreneur and winemaker whose passion for viticulture has brought him international recognition. His winery, which today covers an impressive 100 hectares of vineyards, is known not only in Austria, but worldwide for its excellent wines. These wines find their way to over 20 countries around the world, underlining the global presence and popularity of the Hillinger brand. Hillinger's focus on sustainable cultivation practices and organic production plays a key role in the exceptional quality and purity of its wines.

After years of training in Europe and California, Hillinger bought 12 hectares of vineyards, laying the foundations for his successful winery in Jois, which opened in 2004. The company expanded to include several wine stores and bars throughout Austria and a long-standing business relationship with the Constantia Glen winery in South Africa. In 2012, Hillinger was named "Entrepreneur of The Year" by Ernst & Young, underlining his outstanding role in the wine industry.

Hillinger Small Hill Red is a carefully blended cuvee of 50% Merlot, 25% Pinot Noir and 25% St. Laurent grapes. This wine is matured mainly in stainless steel tanks, supplemented by a small proportion of 10% used barriques to complement the characteristics of the wine. Once the wine has matured sufficiently, it is bottled and sealed with a screw cap. With a cellaring potential of up to 3 years, Hillinger Small Hill Red is a versatile wine that will develop well and reveal its character over time if stored correctly.
