Leo Hillinger is a visionary entrepreneur and winemaker whose passion for viticulture has brought him international recognition. His winery, which today covers an impressive 100 hectares of vineyards, is known not only in Austria, but worldwide for its excellent wines. These wines find their way to over 20 countries around the world, underlining the global presence and popularity of the Hillinger brand. Hillinger's focus on sustainable cultivation practices and organic production plays a key role in the exceptional quality and purity of its wines.

After years of training in Europe and California, Hillinger bought 12 hectares of vineyards, laying the foundations for his successful winery in Jois, which opened in 2004. The company expanded to include several wine stores and bars throughout Austria and a long-standing business relationship with the Constantia Glen winery in South Africa. In 2012, Hillinger was named "Entrepreneur of The Year" by Ernst & Young, underlining his outstanding role in the wine industry.

Hillinger Blaufraenkisch Leithaberg is made from 100% carefully selected Blaufraenkisch grapes, which are grown organically. This wine is vinified dry and comes from a selective hand harvest. After the harvest, fermentation takes place in open fermentation vats over a period of around four weeks. The wine is then aged for around 22 months in barriques and large 3,000-liter wooden barrels, which gives it its exceptional structure and complexity.

This red wine has an impressive ageing potential of around 10 years and is sealed with a natural cork. To experience the full aroma spectrum of this wine, it is recommended to decant it one hour before drinking.
