Since its original launch in the 1970s, the 12-Year-Old has been considered the distillery’s flagship and the ideal introduction to the unique world of Orkney whisky. To achieve its distinctive style, whiskies from carefully selected first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak casks and first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak casks are blended together. Complemented by selected refill casks, the result is an exceptionally well-balanced blend of spicy sweetness, fruitiness, and the typically gentle smoke of Orkney heather peat. The natural golden amber color comes directly from the casks. At 40% ABV, this Island single malt whiskey impresses with its harmonious structure and versatile character.
