The Hennessy distillery is based in Cognac, France. The company was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy and is now run by the eighth generation. The officer emigrated from Ireland to Cognac and founded the company "Jas Hennessy & Co" at that time. The cognac of Richard Hennessy quickly gained a high reputation and became known worldwide.
For the production the own grown grapes from the region of Cognac are used. After double distillation in copper stills, pure eaux-de-vie is produced, which serves as the basis for the cognacs.
The Hennessy Very Special matures for eight years in French oak barrels.
