The Glencadam 13 Years Old Sauternes Wine Cask Finish Limited Edition 2008 is an impressive bottling from the Eastern Highlands that perfectly captures the elegant style of the Glencadam Distillery, founded in 1825. As one of the few still active distilleries on Scotland's east coast, Glencadam is known for its clear, fruity distillates, which are appreciated both for its own range and for blends. For this limited edition, the single malt was first matured in excellent ex-bourbon casks made from American oak before the individual casks were masterfully married and then finished in selected Sauternes wine casks from France. This combination combines the pure distillate structure of the distillery with the noble sweetness and complexity of the French sweet wine. It is bottled at 46% vol., non-chill-filtered and in its natural color, which impressively preserves the authentic character of this limited edition - limited to 3,042 bottles.

The Sauternes finish gives the whisky a flattering depth of honey, dried fruit, vanilla and delicate wine sweetness that blends harmoniously with the floral freshness and creaminess of the Glencadam style.
