The Glen Grant Distillery was founded in Rothes, Scotland, in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant. In 1872, the distillery was taken over and continued by James Grant's son.

Dennis Malcolm was appointed Master Distiller as part of these changes. In 2021, he celebrated his 60th anniversary in the Scotch whisky industry, which underscores his many years of experience and knowledge in the field.
