In 1975, Gerard Bertrand began his grape harvest at Chateau de Villemajou in the Corbieres, where he discovered his passion for wine. Over the course of twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father Georges Bertrand until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After the tragic death of his father in 1987, Gerard Bertrand took over the family management of the Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gerard Bertrand wine company. The Gerard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wine estates and 16 chateaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. Some of the grapes are harvested by hand and matured in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, while the rest is stored in stainless steel tanks.

Gerard Bertrand Rouge Clair is a cuvee made from Grenache, the flagship of the region, and is made for sharing moments with friends. The grapes come from terroirs in the Eastern Pyrenees and give this trendy blend its unique character. It is certified organic and is vinified from hand-picked grapes to preserve the special nuances of the terroir. The Grenache is macerated overnight at cold temperatures for several days. The maceration time is less than five days to ensure a fine balance. After ageing, the red wine is bottled and sealed with a screw cap.
